Faulty Street Lights
With effect from the summer of 2016 the lamps have been changed from sodium to LEDs. These use less than half the electricity, but give a similar intensity of white rather than yellow/orange light. They should also be more reliable. However, if you find that one is not working, please read the following:
Please note that with effect from December 2023 the lights do not operate between midnight and 5.30am GMT (one hour later during summertime)
There are 14 street lights in Warham, which operate from dusk to dawn. On occasions these become faulty. We have a contract with an electrical contractor to carry out repairs. These are normally undertaken within a very short time, but this will only happen when the problem is reported. Please don’t assume that if you see faulty light, that somebody else has reported it! Take the responsibility yourself and let the Parish Clerk know – then it can be fixed. As repairs are undertaken in the daytime, (when none of the lights are working) we need to know which light is faulty from the list below:

Councillors – elections etc.
The number of Councillors that a Parish has depends on the number of people on the Electoral Register. Warham has the minimum of five Councillors. Any person on the Electoral Register may become a Councillor. Elections take place every four years on the first Thursday in May, and may also be held if a vacancy occurs mid-term.

Register of Interests
All Members of the Council are required by law to register their financial and other interests. These include:
- details of any employment or business carried out by them;
- the name of their employer;
- details of any directorships;
- contracts between themselves/their firm and the Council;
- interests in land in the area.
The Register is maintained by the District Council Monitoring Officer and is available for inspection by the public, free of charge, during office hours. Please contact the Council’s Monitoring Officer by telephone on 01603 270352.

Meeting Frequency
The Parish Council normally meets six times each year at 1930 on the third Thursday of the following months:
January, March, May, July, September & November.
The May meeting is proceeded by the Annual Parish Meeting, and the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council, when the Chairman for the following year is elected, follows immediately after.
The dates of meetings for the following year are usually confirmed at this meeting.Everyone on the Electoral Register is welcome to the Annual Parish Meeting and may both speak and vote at it.
Everyone is welcome at Meetings of the Parish Council but only Councillors are entitled to take part in the debate and vote. It is usually possible for you to address the meeting, but you should inform the Chairman or Clerk beforehand that you wish to do so.
All meetings take place at the Reading Room unless otherwise mentioned.

Thursday 21 May 2026 – 1930 – Annual Parish Meeting – followed immediately by
Annual Meeting of the Parish CouncilWANTED
Co-ordinator/Advisor for 6 month contract
Greenhoe Local Energy Club is seeking a part-time, self employed Co-ordinator/Advisor. The contract will be for a six month period initially. It is expected that it will be for 30hrs per month at £20 per hour. The hours are flexible and may include occasional evening and weekend work.
The role will involve working closely with a group of volunteers to help develop, launch and maintain a sustainable energy club. The club will bring together local consumers and electricity generators to benefit residents of Stiffkey, Warham, Wighton and parts of Walsingham & Wells-next-the-Sea, with a catchment area of 900 homes.
Applicants should live locally, must have their own car and be computer literate. The successful applicant will be DBS checked.
Interviews will be held in the first week of May, with a start date shortly after. There will be two full days of training, scheduled for May 13/14th.
